Privacy Policy

DealRanks operates the website dealranks.com and related mobile applications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google or another sign-in provider, we receive basic profile information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. We never receive or store your password for that provider. If you create an account with an email and password, we collect your email address and store your password in hashed form.
  • Preferences and activity. Deals you save, products you track, price alerts you set, votes, comments, and deals you submit.
  • Communications. Messages you send us, such as support requests or feedback.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data. Pages and deals you view, searches you run, links you click, and how you interact with the Service.
  • Device and log data. IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.

Information from third parties

  • Analytics providers. We use analytics services to understand aggregate usage of the Service.
  • Affiliate networks. When you click an outbound link to a retailer, the affiliate network handling that retailer's program (for example, Impact or eBay Partner Network) may report back to us that a click or purchase occurred, including order value and commission data. We do not receive your payment details, and we do not see what you do on the retailer's site beyond what the network reports for commission purposes.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including deal feeds, price tracking, and alerts you request
  • Personalize your experience, such as tailoring the deals shown to your interests
  • Process outbound clicks to retailers and attribute affiliate commissions
  • Send transactional messages, such as price alerts and account notices
  • Send product updates or newsletters, if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time
  • Maintain safety and security, including preventing fraud and abuse
  • Understand usage in aggregate and improve the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers. Vendors that host our infrastructure, deliver emails and push notifications, or provide analytics, under agreements limiting their use of the data to providing services to us.
  • Affiliate networks. When you click an outbound retailer link, the click is routed through the relevant affiliate network so the purchase can be attributed. This routing shares technical data such as a click identifier, timestamp, and device information with that network.
  • Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DealRanks, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; this policy would continue to apply to it.

5. Data Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account exists. We keep usage and log data for up to two years (24 months), after which we delete or aggregate it. Commission and transaction records may be kept longer where required for accounting or legal purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and update. You can view and update your account information in the app or on the website.
  • Deletion. You can delete your account at any time from account settings, or by contacting us at dealrankscom@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes your personal information from our systems, except records we must retain by law.
  • Alerts and emails. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings and unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message.
  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
  • EEA and UK residents (GDPR). We process your data on the legal bases of contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service, attributing affiliate commissions), consent (optional communications), and legal obligation. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at dealrankscom@gmail.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed on servers located there. If you access the Service from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date, and where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
